The End and the Beginning:

Knock once for the father, twice for the son
three times for the holy ghost."

Because you said I’d never be able
But all the whole world is still on my string"

Fun - Ba Ba Ba

I don't think anybody understands how incredibly excited I am for fun. Heck... I don't think anybody really knows who fun are. For who it truly concerns(me) Fun is Nate Ruess' latest outlet to shine from. I mean sure there's Jack from Steel Train ( a great band in it's own right) and that guy from some band everyone always raves about but I've never really listened to (Anathallo) but to me it's all about Nate. His lyrics are astounding and his voice is way beyond 98% of the other singers I listen to ( 2% for Aaron Marsh's insane falsetto, Regina Spektor's creativity, and Patrick's Stump's sometimes vocal gymnastics) And and when I say beyond I mean it... Not like he's super emotive so it's great (that award goes to Max Bemis, or Julia Nunes) this guy has a flat out GOOD voice. And his intellect? He has a great sense of humor and he knows what the music industry needs. I simultaneously want to be this man and marry him... now thats quite a feat.

Where the Wild Things Are

is going to be a movie...

alright... as a kid I loved this book. I remember reading it over and over. We still own it although no it's in my brother's room. Now I never thought that this book was scary, and as a child I was scared of MANY things(movie previews anyone?). But Once I heard there was a live action  movie that all changed. WHAT? LIVE ACTION? This sounds like one of the creepiest things EVER. Can you imagine people with huge heads and exaggerated expressions like in the book? I wonder if it will scare the kids away. Now I'm just very curious to see how this will turn out...

here's a pic of Max
New Photo: Where The Wild Things Are
Kind looks like the monsters will be animated... but still it looks rather eerie.

MOVIE REVIEW: Hard Candy

So I decided to add movie reviews to my blogging repertoire. In the Summer I watch movies quite frequently so reviewing them seemed like a pretty good idea. So for my first ever movie review I am reviewing HARD CANDY starring Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson. Now those who know me know that I love Juno, in which Ellen Page is the title character. I loved her performance so much in that movie that I decided to check out some of her other work. I chose Hard Candy becuase I actually remembered looking it up on IMDB after seeing the poster in video world when I was probably in sixth/seventh grade and the plot grabbed my attention. As you may know I went through a phase where I was obsessed with horror movies, but I focused more on the classics like The Shining and Misery. Thus I had a tendency to skip over modern horror films.

THE PLOT: 14 year hold Hayley frequently chats with 30-something photographer Jeff online. They decide to meet at a cafe, and then they proceed to Jeff's house. Sounds like a story we all have heard before but this has many twists making you second guess who the predator REALLY is in the story.

THE CONCLUSION: WHOA MY GOODNESS... This movie is SCARY. I don't know if Horror is the genre I would put this movie in, but I wouldn't have it in Drama(Where I found it in Blockbuster). It is a thriller to the highest degree. There was 1-2 scenes I had to fast forward through because they were just far too intense and, quite frankly, kinda gross. But this movie is really good in the twisted way a movie like Misery is good. The acting is astounding...There isn't much plot but the dialog and performances makes up for it. It's hard to review it without giving up the twists in the plot. I knew what was going to happen from other reviews and it still terrified me. I couldn't imagine watching it with no preconceived notions. The movie also hit kinda close to home with hayley only one year younger than I. With a generation so obsessed with online relations this reminds you how the internet can really be quite sary. Hard Candy comes highly recommended, but only if you're ready to second guess everything you believe about online predators. This movie, it's one wild ride.

American Teen

I saw this movie at imdb when I was browsing through movies that are coming out this Summer. The poster is initially what caught my eye, but the fact that it was a documentary really grabbed my attention. I was afraid it was going to be some stupid Breakfast Club parody in the vein of Epic Movie or whatever.Even though this probably won't play in any theatres near me I'll try to find a way to see it. If not I'll definitely be renting it on DVD when it comes out.

Magic?

FINALLY! I found an earbud that actually stays in my ear. As you may or may not know one of my biggest pet peeves are those apple earbuds that come with ipods. I despise them because they never ever ever stay in my ears for longer than ten seconds. If by a miracle they do stay in for, like, a minute then they start to really hurt my ears. But yesterday I decided to buy these skullcandy earbuds because I'm too afraid to bring my bose with me on my trip... and I need to bring them to a bose store because something is wrong with them(and sound that goes through them is all creepy and distorted. I think that somehow they got squished) Good thing I have a full year guarantee! So these were on clearance for 10$ instead of 35$ so i decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. Unlike the ipod buds they don't just sit in your ear they actually kind of go into it. They thought of that made me really nervous and gave me the willies but once I got them in and left them in for a little bit I came to love them. If you're looking for new headphones I highly recommend these. Plus they come in tons of really cute colors. I chose metallic orange. They have little skulls on the end too which I guess is kinda novel. Anyways I'm just glad I found earbuds that let me enjoy my music.

Let's try again...

The cronic(what?)cles of Narnia!!

With a free aplique vest!

It says it on the box.

Hot Tranny Mess!

Nobody looks netter in a cropped seater than you!

These Hulu videos can be a little testy. If they don't work wait a few hours then check again. The Arrested development video will be working fine then not play at all for  a few hours then be fine again as is the case with these videos. anyways I hope you like them.

I'm glad I didn't die before I met you

So after Katelyn asked for singing advice on her blog I told her to listen to Bright Eyes. It took some time for me to really get into Conor Oberst's vocals(More like i tried to listen to a few 30 second clips that didn't do him justice) but then one day I heard Road to Joy and it just clicked, especially "I could have been a famous singer/if i had someone else's voice/but failure's always sounded better". I t made me realize that Even if lots of people think my voice sucks I bet I could find at least a hand full of people who would enjoy it, and that made me really happy as a singer. I think if you've got a good message then anything's possible. and what better message than love? This song and video are a testament to love and it's idiosyncrasies. Everything about it makes me smile. Love and music...what more could you ask for?

I Believe the Children are the Future...

It's me! Anna drew this picture of me yesterday. It was so cute. When she started to draw she made me smile so she knew how to draw it. She even gave me my signature 80's hair. People say I've got artistic talent... guess they haven't seen my sister draw.

p.s. Sweet title, non?

It's not what it implies...

One of the best scrubs moment ever. It may or may not be funny if you haven't seen a few episodes of the show(I know i made Katelyn watch some but they were really bad and non-funny episodes) Hopefully you can enjoy this...

Now that I have these...does it mean I'm a true Vermonter?

These came in the mail yesterday. Aren't they lovely? it;s a shame they DON'T FIT. I knew I shouldn't have ordered the narrow size(But all of the zappos reviews said to. I thought we were supposed to believe everything we read online?) oh well. good thing zappos has free returns. The weirdest thing about them?  They smell like the beach.  How strange.

Consequence of Sound by Revolve Dance Company

when did interpretive dance get cool?

I found this online a while ago because I was looking for an audio of this track. My next goal is to learn this song on piano...we'll see about that

The Wind that Blows Across Your Room Carried Cheap Perfume Onto Your Dresser

I bet these smell so good. but at 60$ a bottle I don't even have a fraction of the budget needed to buy one. When I went to the MJ store in rhode island i loved the rain body splash. I bet these are just as wonderful.Yum I wish I could smell like a pear.
